One of my favorite kids snack is the celery log. Spread peanut butter onto celery sticks, and sprinkle raisins on top. I personally don’t like the raisins but the kids do.
Take house cleaning as an opportunity to teach your child about organization and charity. As you clean, pack up things you no longer want or need to donate to charity. Have your child do the same. Instead of them constantly pushing old toys to the side, teach the value of donating them to others. Another alternative is to teach your child about organization and business by organizing a yard sale.

Alright, so they are well rested and, I’m sure, eager for the first day. If you have elementary aged kids you might want to pick out an outfit or two, for the first day, ahead of time. Encourage exercise. If you’ve been wise, you have ensured that your child spent a good part of the summer engaged in physical activity rather than vegetating in front of the TV or a game console. Encourage your child to participate in school sports and games, and encourage your school to schedule periods of exercise.
