visit the school with your child. Take a tour of the school facilities together with your child so he can be familiar with the environment. Introducing your child to his new environment will make him feel at ease. Do not forget to give your kid’s teacher a copy of your business card printing material so she can update you with your child’s progress and behavior.
Spying should be done discreetly, follow your kids in your car, check the history on the computer, and request to meet their friends. It is only if you suspect your child to be in great danger that you should go through their things when they are not home. If children feel betrayed and state the old, “You went through my things! How could you!” you could let them know that this is still your house and that if they would come to talk to you, then you would not have had to go through their things. Be sure to let your child know you are doing this because you love them and are concerned about them. Let them know if they don’t talk to you that you have no other way of knowing what is going on.
Do you want a live-in nanny, day time nanny, full-time, part-time or on-call? What is your budget? Will you want the nanny to clean the house, cook meals or transport your children to after school activities or play dates? What other responsibilities are you looking for in a nanny?
Set up a subject list and allow your child to choose from a list of electives as well. After all, school can’t be just English and History. Allow your child to help determine the order of the classes and how they want the semesters set up. For instance, you can choose to teach the same classes all year, or teach half the classes one semester and the other half the next semester.
Engage your school officials. Teachers and principals are overworked and underpaid. Active parental engagement can help schools to create not only a better educational environment but a healthier one.
Bullying- Bullying comes with schooling and with the advancement in technology bullying is becoming even more threatening. Bullies can now devote a whole website to humiliate and terrorize your child. There have been incidents in which web sites or chat rooms were used in a way to taunt a child and caused that child to commit suicide. Spying, in this case, would give the parent enough time to interfere before the child’s emotions can be damaged to the point where they begin to have suicidal thoughts.
Rejuvenate your spirit. Take some time each day to connect with your higher power. Pray, reflect and meditate to connect with your spirit and allow peace to work in your life.
